Discipline policy
The Anaheim Union High School District has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding drugs, alcohol and weapons.
A pupil may be suspended from school or recommended for expulsion if it is determined that the pupil has committed sexual harassment. Sexual harassment means unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature, made by a pupil or pupils to another pupil which has the purpose or effect of having a negative impact upon the pupil’s academic performance, or of creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment.
We believe all of our students can behave appropriately at school. We will not tolerate student behavior that interferes with teaching or learning.
In order to guarantee you and all the students in our classrooms the excellent learning climate they deserve, we are utilizing the following plan:
CLASS RULES:
1. Be seated in assigned area with classroom materials when the tardy bell rings.
2. Avoid any behavior that is disruptive to classroom procedures.
3. Follow directions and cooperate.
4. Respect self and other persons and property.
If a student chooses to disrupt class by breaking a rule during the class period they will be subject to the discipline plan process as follows:
Behavioral Incidents/Infractions:
Level 1: Breaking of classroom/school rules (1 point) ex. gum, not following directions
Level 2: Behavioral Issues (3 points) ex. disruptions, defiance, rudeness
Level 3: Referrals (5 points) ex. continuous unacceptable behavior OR one grievous act
Any student who commits a Class 1 infraction and/or an expellable offense is subject to board policy, which supercedes any school plan or policy.
Consequences:
10 points = administrative contact with parent
20 points = Discipline Committee meets with parent/guardian and student (Intervention Contract)
30 points = 1 day On Campus Suspension
40 points = 3 day home suspension
50 points = Intervention review meeting (transfer or expulsion are possible outcomes)
